THE PROBLEM

When fitting wishbones to an application, the narrowness of the mounting location for the wishbone bushes can make installation difficult. To overcome this issue, follow the steps below.

The Solution

1. CLEANING

Before fitting the wishbone bush, clean the location hole (circled) with a wire brush.

2. Removal

Apply sufficient force to push the wishbone bush into the location hole. This will align the bushes and the ball joint for fitment.

RECOMMENDATIONS

After fitting a new steering and suspension part, check your steering geometry. Your vehicle may not appear to be exhibiting excessive tyre wear on immediate inspection, but a misaligned geometry could lead to excessive tyre wear over time.
